G'day! I am in Australia right now for the XVIII Commonwealth Games! So far it has been a blast! The weather has been really nice, the city is spectacular, and the village we are staying in is awesome! It is great to see all the other athletes from all other countries!   The team (Me, Jenna Kerbis, Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs, Britnee Habib, and Alyssa Brown) arrived last Friday and since then we have been training and resting.  We had Podium Training two days ago, and yesterday was Opening Ceremonies! Podium Training went fairly well for our team. We felt pretty good on the equipment and are confident for our team competition coming up! The gym is really nice. It is the Rod Laver Arena which is used for the Australia Open Tennis Tournament and also it was used for Worlds in November.
Opening Ceremonies were amazing! It was the first time we had gone to an Opening Ceremony and since we didn't compete the day after, and didn't train till the evening we went. And also, we won't be here for Closing- we are leaving early!! I had been to the Closing Ceremony in Athens, but this was amazing! On the way there in all our buses, the roads were closed and everyone was waving to us! Like the whole city was out in the streets or in the arena to watch the ceremony! When we marched in it was so exciting and we saw the Queen!!!! It was quite a thrill!
Well, that's all for now! Don't forget to drop me a line on my guestbook!
