Hi All!
A lot has happened since my last journal entry! I competed at Elite Canada, in December (my results are on the result page). I was quite thrilled with my performances on all my events, except beam!! After Elite Canada, I had my 14th Birthday, and Christmas with my family, as well as New Years. Through out the Christmas holidays I was busy training for the Australian Youth Olympic Festival. Me and my team consisting of Melanie Tham, Melanie Banville, and Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs left for Sydney on January 4th. It was a really long flight and I slept for almost all the time! We stopped in Honolulu for a few hours but unfortunately only stayed at the airport. :(

In Sydney we spent the first few days training. It was really hot, as it is the middle of summer there which was very nice. We stayed with many athletes from different sports in the "Athlete's Village" at a boarding school called St Josephs College. It was quite nice. There were four days total of competing. The first day was the team competition. This was a good meet for me and my team. We placed third behind Australia and China. The next day was All Around Finals. I placed third all around. I made all event finals and I placed third on bars, and second on floor. After the competition was over, we went to the zoo and saw koalas, kangaroos, and many other animals. We had a great trip!

When I got home, I went right back to training in preparation for the Visa American Cup (which I was thrilled to be invited to). There was a small training camp at my gym with the head coach of Canada. While training that week, I rolled my ankle on the edge of a mat and chipped the bone off the bottom of the fifth metatarsal. :( For the next two weeks, I could only do bars and conditioning. Now I am back to full training. It will take a couple of weeks before I will be doing full routines, but unfortunately I had to cancel the American Cup. But its great to be training on all events again! I have possibly two competitions later in March. (Still to be confirmed.) Bye for now!
